The basis for a well designed and constructed barn conversion is knowledge of construction materials and products best suited for the various elements contained within a barn conversion. An initial inspection of the barn will allow APS to clarify the condition and confirm the necessary additional structural design elements required to complete the proposal and the additional specialists and consultants required to complete the design team.
APS’s ethos has always been to stay true to the original design and character of the barn as much as possible using matching materials and design techniques which compliment the original design.
Occasionally there may be an opportunity to include an extension or fill in a section of the barn structure with a large expanse of glazing. High specification materials and products used sympathetically, along with careful detailing can compliment and enhance the overall design when used in these areas.
